METHOD OF PREPARATION

1. Boil 800 ml water in a cooker and keep a stand inside the cooker so that top of the stand remains at 1 inch above the water surface.
2. Empty 1000gm Dhokla powder in a separate vessel. Pour 900 ml water slowly stirring the mixture continuously so that no lumps remain
3. Immediately pour the mixture in the aluminum tray and keep it on the stand in the cooker. Cover the cooker with a plate. Don’t use whistle in cooker.
4. Steam it for exactly 15 minutes and then keep it aside for cooling.
5. After cooling, cut the Dhokla of desired sizes and pour 2 Spoons (75ml) of Phodni.
6. Then sprinkle finely chopped coriander on it.

PHODNI

  1. For 1000gm Dhokla Powder Heat 150 ml peanut oil in a vessel. Add 30 gm green chillies in it.
  2. After the green chillies turn brown add 30 gm Mustard seeds (Rie).
  3. After the Rie is cooked add 10 gm white til and Curry leaves. 
  4. Add kadi patta, and then remove from heat.
  5. After the liquid cools add 50 ml water in it. Mix it properly.
  6. Stir the liquid every time you pour it on the cut Dhokla.

Ingredients:

Gram dal, Edible salt, Sugar, Turmeric powder, Sodium bi carbonate, Citric acid.
Store in cool, dry and hygienic place.
